Deacon John will present a 6 week bible study on the Gospel of Matthew beginning Thursday Feb. 18 at 7PM in the B building.
Deacon John will show how Matthew used images and prophecies from the Old Testament to convince his fellow Jews that Jesus was the long promised messiah of Israel. We will study Old Testament figures like Moses, King David and the prophets and events like the Passover and the Exodus in order to see how understanding the Old Testament is key for interpreting the New Testament.
This would be a good thing to do for Lent. Don’t worry if you did not attend the bible study last fall. Deacon. John will provide a quick review of the material covered in that course to get everyone up to speed.
