A Bigger Heart
Today’s passage is called “The sermons on the Mount.” or “The Beatitudes.” They explain how to spend this life in order to attain everlasting happiness in Heaven. Following Christ is not meant to be easy and it is a challenge we must face every day. We are invited to do things that do not come naturally to us like being humble, showing mercy and opening our hearts to those in need.
In writing this message, I am reminded that we are already beginning our second month of 2010.
Jesus reminds us that we need to take time for the important things in our life.
The church as our mother is here to help and remind us of these important things and times.
Lent is almost here. I would like to encourage each of you to dedicate yourself to a deeper sense of prayer and self-examination. Also come to a realization of how we need to renew our faith, so on Easter we can all joyfully celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord who shows each of us the Way to Salvation.
Let us be very sincere this year with a good Lenten beginning and ending.
Thank you again for your great generosity to D.S.F. and especially to our parish. May God bless you.
