Spring is just around the corner and everything is beginning to sprout, turn green and grow again.
It’s really amazing how plants are renewed in the warmth of Spring.
We as people of God also experience renewal in our faith. This renewal can take place in many different ways. Renewal can come from Sacraments, from prayer, through Meditation on the Scriptures, and many other forms…..During Lent, we are seeing more people at the weekday celebration of the Eucharist. Lent has given us the opportunity to make changes in our life so that we can listen to the Lord more closely.
St. Paul tells us: Make a fresh start and change your heart…. (Ephesians 4:22-25).
My dear friends, the message of the Transfiguration is that there is a connection between suffering and death and the Resurrection and Glory. When things are different it is good to remember that there is no short cut to Glory. Real happiness and peace of mind only come after Calvary because the Cross and suffering are inescapable.
The Transfiguration is about letting the glory of God shine through us so that others can catch a glimpse of that glory.
Jesus fills us with the light of your love and faith. Make us shine in the darkness and touch the lives of others with the light of your Goodness.
