Jesus knows and loves each one of us just like a Shepherd with His sheep; He is the Good shepherd who came to care for us and show us the way to everlasting happiness.

My brothers and sisters, our Holy Father has set this Sunday as a World Day of Prayer that the Lord of the harvest may send laborers into His harvest. We all have a mission in life. God has vested us for some definite service. And He wants us to do our best to cooperate with His invitation to “come, follow me”.

The Gospel picks up the idea of Christ the Good Shepherd calling each of us by name as we journey through life by different ways.

A Good Shepherd is always there when His sheep need Him, just as Jesus is always there for us in times of need. He will never abandon us and is always watching over us. We can place all our trust in His love and care knowing that He was ready to die for us so that we could be with Him forever.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo

El tiempo de Primavera y de Pascua finalmente han llegado y muchas cosas han empezado a retoñar.

La Pascua es el tiempo cuando explotamos de alegría con aleluyas porque la muerte es conquistada por medio de la Resurrección de Jesús.

Todos los Domingos celebramos el día de la Resurrección.

Todos los Domingos es un día de descanso que debe recordarnos que el descanso que la Iglesia está promoviendo es una pre-figuración de nuestro “descanso” en el Paraíso. Este descanso no es simplemente “no hacer nada”; es una PAZ que se encuentra en los corazones de aquellos que siguen a Jesús. Es un GOZO que brilla cuando la vida ha sido bien vivida en el Señor. La Pascua trae el verdadero significado del “Descanso”.

En el curso de este año litúrgico, en nuestra parroquia, algunas de nuestras familias, sufrirán la experiencia de las muertes de seres queridos. Busquemos el verdadero significado de la vida eterna y de la Resurrección. Para nosotros la eternidad ha empezado debido a Jesús y a Su Resurrección. La vida eterna es el regalo de Cristo para nosotros.

Que la Paz y el Gozo de la Pascua y del Señor Resucitado estén con cada uno de ustedes.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

Springtime and Easter have finally arrived and many things have begun to sprout.

Easter is a time when we also burst out with our alleluias that death is conquered through the Resurrection of Jesus.

Every Sunday we celebrate the day of the Resurrection.

Every Sunday is a day of ‘rest’ that should remind us that the ‘rest’ that the Church is promoting is a pre-figurement of our “rest” in Heaven. This rest is not simply “non action”; it is PEACE that is found in the hearts of those who follow Jesus. It is JOY that glows from a life well lived in the Lord. Easter brings out the true meaning of “Rest”.

In the course of this liturgical year, some of our parish family will experience the deaths of loved ones. Let us seek the true meaning of eternal life and the Resurrection. For us eternity has begun because of Jesus and His Resurrection. Eternal life is Christ’s gift to us.
