Loves & Fishes Service Project

We will once again be going to the Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen by Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 8:30-2pm (appx). Everyone interested must turn in a permission form (available in the office or online at our parish web site) and please let Bridget know you would like to join us if you haven’t done so already. We need to know by June 7th so that we can have enough car space for everyone. This is a great experience to serve as Jesus has shown us by example. There is no cost but you may want to bring money for food as we will probably stop on the way home from downtown for something to eat.

Meet at SKD at 8:30am – bring permission form! We should return around 2-2:30pm.

Paz y Bienestar, Padre David

From the Pastor’s Desk – Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

My dear friends, I want to express my gratitude for the welcome that I have received since being appointed here. Your generosity in expressing your love has humbled me greatly. And so on this Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity I find myself closer to God because of you. Thank you again.

As you recall my first weekend here I mentioned that I would like as many people as possible to be able to attend the Masses here. And since we have all of our weekday Masses timed for 6:30pm and only around 3 people attending each day I would like to see if it would increase the parishioner’s ability to attend if we changed two days, Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday at 8am and Thursday at 12:15pm – this may be easier for those either going to work or wanting to attend on their lunchtime. The change, I want to point out, is not for my benefit but yours, especially if you are finding it hard to attend Mass at the given times.

Peace and All Good, Fr David
