Bazaar Time Again.
It’s time to start thinking about our Parish Bazaar. We need volunteers for everything. Starting September 20th we will have a booth set up outside after all Masses giving you the opportunity to sign up to help the day of the Bazaar, which is just around the corner on October 19th. So don’t feel embarrassed or afraid to sign up it’s fun to help out especially during this event.

Es el tiempo para comenzar a pensar de nuestro Bazar. Necesitamos voluntarios para todos los puestos. Empezando el 20 de Septiembre tendremos un puesto e afuera después de que se terminen todas las Misas por favor dense la oportunidad de inscribirse para ayudar el día del Bazar, que está a la vuelta de la esquina el 19 de Octubre. Así que no se siente avergonzado o atemorizado de inscribirse, es divertido ayudar especialmente durante este evento.

Are you interested in singing? Now is the time to join our church Choir. Choir Practice resumes weekly on Thursdays beginning September 18th at 7:00pm in the parish hall.
Spanish as a Second Language!
Are you interested in learning how to speak Spanish? If you are, now is the time to call the parish office to sign up to take SSL Classes, Spanish as a Second Language. The classes will start on Thursday, September 18th from 5pm to 6:30pm in the B bldg. Please bring a note book, pen or pencil to class. Please be on time, class begins at 5:00pm.
Ingles como Segundo Lenguaje!!
¿Esta usted interesado(a) a aprender Ingles? Si es así por favor llame a la oficina de la parroquia para que se apunte para las clases de ESL, Ingles como Segundo Lenguaje. Las clases serán todos los Jueves en la tarde de 7:15 a 8:45pm en el salón B. Por favor triga un lápiz y cuaderno para que pueda escribiré. 40 Days for Life – Grimes & Waller Counties Campaign
This fall 40 Days for Life – Grimes & Waller Counties will join with over 170 cities from across America and Canada which are taking their faith to the streets to pray and fast for an end to abortion! 40 Days for Life will run from September 24th through November 2nd 24 hours a day, Sundays only excluded. Planned Parenthood of Houston & Southeast Texas is expanding. If this expansion takes place, Houston will have the notoriety of having the largest free-standing late-term abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere.
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

ALTAR SERVER TRAINING FOR ALL NEW AND RENEWING SERVERS
Saturday, October 4 – 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Servers of all ages are asked to attend. New servers will have an opportunity to be introduced to the ministry, and experienced servers will learn new procedures and refine their skills. YOUR PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED. PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND.

Hempstead 40 Days for Life LifeChain

Standing in unison with pro-lifers from over 1300 communities around the world, we will hold signs and pray silently. We will stand along Business 290 from 12th street to McDonald’s on Sunday afternoon, rain or shine. Meet at the Gazebo for your signs and an opening prayer. Families and lawn chairs are welcome.
Devotional Candles
For fire safety, we have been advised not to use the glass candles sold in stores in the chapel. Fire safe candles are available for purchase at the parish office. All other candles will be removed.

Para la seguridad del fuego, nosotros hemos sido aconsejados no utilizar las velas de vidrio vendidas en tiendas en la capilla. Si usted necesita una vela segura están disponibles para comprar en la oficina de parroquia. Quitaremos todas las otras velas.
House of Help
is the food pantry at St. Katharine’s which provides food and other services for the elderly and disabled of our community. We appreciate your quarterly donations: however, we distribute food to the needy on a weekly basis and the cupboards have been pretty bare lately……and so we’re asking for your help. Please bring non-perishables food items to any Mass on the weekends.

es la casa de despensa de Santa Catarina, la cual proveé de comida y otros servicios para los ancianitos y los incapacitados de nuestra comunidad. Apreciamos mucho sus donaciones Trimestrales sin embargo, se distribuye comida a los necesitados todas las semanas y la despensa últimamente está muy vacía …..y es por eso que estamos pidiendo su ayuda. Por favor traiga comida enlatada ó que no se eche a perder a cualquiera de las Misas de los fines de semana.
