In baptism children are incorporated into the saving mystery of Jesus Christ and receive their adoption God’s sons and daughters! Thus the Church strongly encourages parents to baptize their children as soon as possible after birth. This great event requires proper preparation of the children parents and even their Godparents.
To better prepare parents and Godparents we have changed the English Baptism Preparation Program at St. Katharine Drexel. Deacon John will be conducting the program which will consist of attending in two classes which are held in February, April, June, August, October and December.
Class 1 is held the first Tuesday of the above months from 7 until 8 PM in the parish office. Only one parent is required to attend this class. At this class parents will receive information on baptism guidelines and will also register themselves and Godparents for Class 2, which is held on the 4th Saturday of the above months from 9 AM until 1 PM in Room B3. Both parents should attend Class 2. Godparents are also strongly encouraged to attend Class 2. Children should NOT attend either class.
Parents wanting to attend the classes should call the office no later than 5 days before the Class 1 to schedule their participation.
